Global Council for Osseointegration
GCO is a not-for-profit organisation registered in Switzerland in 2008 by three founding members: Prof. Friedrich Neukam, Prof. Christoph Hämmerle and Dr Franck Renouard.
Our purpose is to create a platform for discussion for worldwide organisations and individuals with a particular interest in implant-based therapy. We believe that such a platform will enable greater share of knowledge and expertise and help the youngest organisations to grow thanks to experience sharing with bigger organisations.
GCO was introduced to the dental community through the organisation of its first Joint Congress in Asia with the College of Dental Surgeons of Hong Kong on 3-5 November 2010. In doing so, GCO placed the foundation stone for its establishment. The second step in the GCO implementation was the 2nd International Congress on Implant Dentistry that took place on 8-10 March 2012 in Cape Town, South Africa.
GCO’s aim is to bridge the gap between science and clinical practice. In addition, GCO also wants to spread good practice/standards all around the world.
